ImageVenezuela has been invited by FIVB to World League 2008. Venezuela will compete in World League 2008 instead of Canada.

Venezuela will take place of Canada in Pool A, other teams in Pool A are Brazil, France and Serbia. FIVB President Dr. Rubén Acosta said: “The FIVB is pleased to have Venezuela back in the World League. With its enthusiasm, this country can give a boost to the competition. Venezuela’s TV market is one of the biggest in South America. I hope that they will follow all the high standards requested by a competition of the World League’s level. Puerto Rico also was a potential new team for 2008. We have no doubt that for the 2009 edition it will be a strong candidate to replace one of the two countries which has the fewest spectators in the upcoming edition.”
