There is only one leader in the A1 after 20th round. Trentino swept Modena and took advantage of the tie-break between Cuneo and Macerata.
Nikola Grbic (Itas Diatec Trentino): "It is been a nice and important
victory, against a team that made it really difficult for us, even if
the result might not suggest this. It was especially hard in the last
two sets. At this point of the season, we are aware of our potential.
We know we still have margin for improvement, we know what we have to
work on from now till the end of the season".
In the remake of the cup final, it was Cuneo who won this time, reacting well after losing the second 37-39 and trailing 2-1. Cuneo was without Wijmans while setter Javier Gonzalez shined with 10 points.
Perugia registered a seventh consecutive win, at the expense of a revamped Piacenza, beaten 3-0. Coach Angelo Lorenzetti had to changed it all once again as Marshall and Zlatanov were out. Perugia did not get unfazed by the many substitutions made during the game and recorded the longest winning streak of the club´s history.
At the bottom of the table, the crucial games all ended in the fifth set, Vibo Valentia, Pineto and Forli all snatched a point against the bigger-named teams Treviso (without Fei), Montichiari and Martina Franca. This means the situation at this end of the table remains unchanged. Complete round results here . from legavolley
