In the 21st round of the A1 league, each of the top three teams
obtained three-point victories, meaning the table remains unchanged.
However, perugia moved up to fourth.
In Cuneo, the host defeated the last team that had beaten them this season: Forli, and extended its winning streak to 13. Another team seems unstoppable right now: Perugia came away from Treviso with its 8th consecutive win and moved up to fourth at the expense of Piacenza. Francesco DallOlio (coach of Sisley Treviso): "Shame we lacked composure
in the key moments of each set, because we had created a favourable
situation to do something positive. Tonight, the fact that we are not
at our best physically prevailed on the confidence and cynicism we had
shown in recent weeks. Congratulations to Perugia. We have to foget
about it and focus on Wednesday´s game, when we will have a good
opportunity to reach the Challenge Cup Final Four." Lorenzetti´s team couldn´t do much against Trentino, who registered its third three-point win running. Piacenza did everything possible to make it difficult for the Italian champs but Trentino seemed more united and accurate. Macerata had it all easy against Padova, who seems doomed to go down. In the PalaOlimpia gym, Verona needed a tie-break to get rid of Montichiari but they are now tied with Treviso in 7th place in the league table. After four losses in a row, Modena got back to winning ways against Pineto, keeping its dream of playoffs alive.
