15th round of Russian Superleague was full of interesting results. First of all Russian champions and table leader from Kazan lost in four sets in Novy Urengoi.
Kazan didn´t come to Novy Urengoi with all the stars. R. Priddy, L. Ball, S. Tetyukhin and M. Mikhaylov stayed in Kazan. The team of V. Alekno is preparing for the important Champions league game against Bled. Novy Urengoi took this opportunity and claimed vital 3:1 win.
Novosibirsk had a chance to move to first spot in ranking but Ural didn´t want to lose either. At the end of long battle it was Novosibirsk who could celebrate 3:2 victory. "Both teams really wanted to win today. For Ufa it was crucial to win and we wanted to win too", said A. Voronkov head coach of Novosibirsk.
Odintsovo, third team of Russian Superleague ranking, gained 2 points after tiebreak in Kemerovo. Krasnodar lost 3:2 with Yaroslavl. Dynamo claimed straight victory in Kaliningrad.
Belgorod needed only three sets to beat Surgut. It was important for Belgorod to save energy before the second Champions league game against Cuneo. Belgorod lost 3:0 in Italy, but the chance to get in next round of Champions league is still alive.
