Yuriy Marichev has been appointed as the new coach of Russia women’s national team. He has signed a two-year contract.

 

Yuriy Marichev was born November 17, 1960. As a player he was three-time champion of Russia with CSKA (1986, 1990, 1991), winner of the European Cup (1991), European Super Cup (1991), the champion of Turkey in 1992. He started coaching career in 2001 in Fakel.
 
In 2005 Yuriy Marichev led the men’s youth team of Russia for the title of world champions.
 
In season 2009/10 he led Dinamo Krasnodar to the 3rd place in the Superleague.
