 The Champion of the Men´s Cuban Volleyball Championship is the title holder from last year, team from the capital of Cuba Havana City.
The Havana City team conquered the title of the First Class Cuban Men’s National Championship, but not without a strong resistance from opponents of Villa Clara. The victory was in five close sets by score of 25-23, 23-25, 26-24, 21-25 and 15-11. The champions had difficulties with the reception and the serves but finally established their class as a team. Middle blocker Osmany Camejo was one of the main fixtures of the winners and was elected as the Most Valuable Player. Also Joan Llanes, Maikel Sanchez, Roberlandi Simon, Yoandry Diaz and Jesus Cruz standed out. Raidel Corrales, excelled for the Villa Clara side during the match played at Alejandro Urgelles Hall and nationally televised. In the match for the bronze medal, Camaguey defeated Santiago de Cuba in four sets by score of 28-26, 23-25, 25-20 and 25-22.
