Serie A1 ready for Play-offs

 Last round of the regular season has been played. Team of Itas Diatec Trentino won the Italian Serie A1 regular championship. Eight best team will fight in play-offs.
Trento, Cuneo, Treviso, Rome, Macerata, Piacenza, Modena and Montichiari access playoffs. Trento - Modena, Cuneo - Montichiari, Treviso - Piacenza and Rome - Macerata battles are scheduled for the quarterfinals. Teams will play to the best of three matches. Padova, Taranto, Perugia and Milan retain the right to participate in the Series A1 TIM also in the 2008/09 season. Latina and Corigliano are falling to Serie A2.
After 26 matches of the regular season, Vissotto was the top scorer of the championship with 484 points. Simeonov the best servise player with 47 points from the line of nine metres. Best middleblocker was Gustavo with 81 blocks.
