The twenty-three year old Red Star Belgrade captain and Serbian
international is on the rise in his ever impressing volleyball career
and is the star of the Wiener Stadtische Liga.
Where and when did you start playing Volleyball?
I started training volleyball in Belgrade, 1998
What does it mean to you playing for Red Star Belgrade and being their captain?
Playing for a club that is the biggest in the country and being its captain is something that everyone certainly dreams about and I am certainly more than honoured and privileged to be.
What kind of feeling is it playing for the National Team of Serbia?
Playing for your country, defending its colours in sports, knowing the hole nation is watching you is the greatest feeling you can have.
What are you wishes for this year?
The same as every other season to win trophies!
Hardest opponent you have played against?
Every opponent is hard in his own way. There isn’t hard and easy opponents.
What is your motto?
“Don’t regret anything that doesn’t make you smile”
Plans for the future?
To finish my time at Red Star Belgrade in the best possible way and to find an excellent club where I will improve my volleyball and by doing this it will motivate me in becoming a better player
You’re idol?
I haven’t got idols but I rate and respect Ivan Miljkovic and Goran Vujevic as players
The best advice you have received?
To not hurry and be impatient during a game because volleyball is not played on time but on points!
What do you do in your spare time?
I relax by surfing the net and listening to music
You’re biggest achievement?
Becoming Serbian Champions with Red Star Belgrade
What is your advice to younger volleyball players who wish to become professionals?
To be determined no matter what!
You’re biggest failure?
My biggest disappointment in volleyball was in the Cup semi finals when we where leading in the tie-break 13:7 and ended up losing which cost us a spot in the final four years ago.
What part of your game do you wish to improve?
I would like to improve on my defence.
Explain the first time you were called up for the Senior National Team?
It was in 2006 and the feeling was indescribable. Its what you live and play for!
What would be the greatest achievement in your career?
I hope my biggest achievement in my career is still yet to happen.
Favourite movie?
I haven’t got a favourite film but my favourite genre is comedy
Favourite music?
House music, club and progressive
Apart from volleyball what other sports do you follow?
I follow tennis and I am a big fan of Roger Federer
Describe volleyball?
It’s a beautiful sport in which individual doesn’t mean anything. On the other side its beautiful to watch and more beautiful to play!
