European qualifications tournaments are proceeding. Bulgaria and Estonia are the first teams already qualified to Turkey from the 2nd round of the European Championship qualification.
Spain won astonishing final match of European Volleyball Championship 2007 against Russia 3:2 in front of the 9200 spectators. Serbia gain the bronze medal match.
First time in a history of European Volleyball Championships Finland will play semifinals. Russia and Spain are also qualified for semifinals. Serbia is the last semifinalist.
Basic pools of European Volleyball Championship are over. Greece,Turkey, Slovenia and Croatia finished last in their pools. These teams are out from final pools. Best positions in final pools has Spain and Russia.
European Volleyball Championship 2007 starts in Russia. Four basic pools has to be played before play-off pools and final round. Favorites for the European title are organizer Russia, Poland and Bulgaria.
The drawing of lots for the European Championship was carried in Moscow. Poll B and D will be played in Moscow, pool A and C in St. Petersburg. Pool matches are on program from 6th September.2007 to 9th September 2007.
Sixteen teams for European Championships are definite. In the third round of qualification Finland, Germany and Slovenia qualified to the Russia. European Championship will be played in Moscow and St. Petersburg from 6-16 September 2007.
European Volleyball Championships history starts in 1948. Untill now there has been 24 european tournaments. The most medals won the Soviet Union. Europe in global is the continent with the best teams (Italy, Russia, Serbia & Montenegro, France, Poland,...) and the best volleyball players of the world are playing volleyball leagues in Italy, Russia, Greece and France.
