| Bulgaria secured spot in Izmir |

 European qualifications tournaments are proceeding. Bulgaria and Estonia are the first teams already qualified to Turkey from the 2nd round of the European Championship qualification.
Bulgaria confirmed position of favouite in Pool E and without loosing single set qualified for the European Championship in Izmir 2009. Bulgaria was already qualified before the last game against Portugal, but they wanted to end with a victory and now they are happy to have achieved that goal. Portugal finished second with chance to qualify from the 3rd round in September.
Pool F finished with a big surprise. Poland was unanimously considered as the big favorite in Pool F, but Estonia defeated the world’s fifth-ranked team 3:2 and got a ticket to Turkey. "We beat Poland, but Estonia isn't a world top team yet. We had to use this great chance that Montenegro provided us with. Before the Qualification Tournament I told that it was going to be very difficult even to get second place. This task was easier than I thought, but to be in first place... Incredible!", said coach of estonian team Keel..Poland has to play 3rd round against 2nd ranked team of Pool D (Belgium, Greece, Great Britain, Sweden).
