Best 4 in Champions League

Dinamo-Tattransgaz Kazan won home match against Cannes in three sets. One set in Cannes was enough to qualify for Kazan. After the second set Kazan changed three players of basic six (Ball, Stanley, Apalikov). Even with these substitutions next two sets pertained to Kazan. For Viktor Sidelnikov, Kazan’ head coach, “the first set was difficult because I said to my players to take no risks. Afterwards, it became easier in the second set because we took the lead and kept it. Cannes is a very good team, specially the young opposite Celitans. Now let’s go to the Final Four”. Laurent Tillie said “We have well started, we won the first set and we were very close in the middle of the second set. But thanks to their huge players Tetyukhin and Stanley, they increase their lead point by point”.

Copra Piacenza won 3:1 in Greece with Panathinaikos Athens and had great position before home match. Piacenza  started very bad at home, with 0:2 for Panathinaikos. After that the heart and determination of the Italian players come into game. It is historical success for Copra Piacenza to be in Final Four of Champions League.

First battle between Sisley Treviso and Vfb Friedrichshafen finished 3:2 in favor of German team. Match in Friedrichshafen started better for home team. Untill 23:20 in second set, everything seems well for German team. But good serves of Cisolla brought Treviso back to game. Friedrichshafen could not score one spike and lost second set 25:23. The performance of Italian team has improved and the battle for every point continued till the end of the match. At the end it is Treviso who is celebrating participation in Lodz. Treviso has qualified due to better point ratio, Sisley won just three more points (210:207) than Friedrichshafen!
